The News Literacy Project

This site centers their work on creating educational resources for teachers and students for media literacy education in K-12. Recently, they started a new “Rumor Guard” which streamlines false information into a few digestible sentences to understand where the media misinterpreted the fake news. Explore their RumorGuard page here.
They also recently introduced Checkology, which is “a free e-learning platform with engaging, authoritative lessons on subjects like news media bias, misinformation, conspiratorial thinking and more. Students develop the ability to identify credible information, seek out reliable sources and apply critical thinking skills to separate fact-based content from falsehoods.”
The platform aims to be a resource free to both teachers in classrooms, as well as the general public. Checkology includes courses taught by reputable journalists and scholars, and centers on specific ideas such as making sense of data, practicing quality journalism, and Infozones.
